SAMBA, Dec 5: The Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with the Department of Zoology, conducted series of events as a part of week-long AIDS awareness initiative.The event featured Symposium on HIV/AIDs and society and FacePainting competition where students actively participated. The programme endeavored to generate awareness regarding prevention of HIV/AIDS and to reduced stigma and discrimination related to HIV/AIDS in the society. The day's proceedings began with a symposium on HIV/AIDS and society where speakers emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, healthcare access and the collective responsibility of society in supporting affected individuals. In face painting competition, the artistic expressions highlighting the need for awareness, prevention and compassion in combating the global epidemic were displayed.A human chain was also formed to champion the concept of unity, solidarity and shared responsibility in the fight against the disease.
