Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 5: The Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, in collaboration with the J&K AIDS Control Society and under the guidance of IQAC, organized a series of events to mark World AIDS Day. The activities, held under the theme "Take the Right Paths," included a rally, a poster-making competition, and a reels-making contest aimed at educating students and the community about HIV/AIDS causes, symptoms, and prevention. On December 4, 2024, a rally was conducted from the college premises to nearby villages, where students raised awareness with slogans like "Fight the Virus, Not the People" and "Prevention is Better than Cure." Addressing the participants, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora highlighted the significance of such initiatives in combating misinformation and reducing stigma. A poster-making competition was held the next day, with students showcasing creative ideas on the theme. Winners included Ms. Madiha Mir (1st place), Ms. Palak (2nd place), and Mr. Dikshant (3rd place). Similarly, a reels-making competition engaged students in creating awareness content, with Sunaina Rajput, Simran, and Rinkey Verma securing the top three positions, respectively.
