Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, Dec 5: BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) member Pandit Suresh Sharma today inaugurated the construction of the Barui to Parsoti road in Panchayat Barui, Block Maira Mandrian. The road, which is being built under the State Sector at a cost of ?40 lakh, fulfills a long-standing demand of the local community.
Once completed, this road will significantly improve connectivity and convenience for residents traveling between Barui and Parsoti.
Addressing the gathering, Suresh Sharma emphasized his commitment to ensuring that every village and locality is connected by paved roads. "Our goal is to leave no village or neighborhood without proper road connectivity. In the coming days, we will intensify efforts to achieve this objective," he said.
He also announced that additional road construction projects under the State Sector would soon begin in locations such as Kufi Dhanna, Amma Sati Devasthan Bala, Mahadev Mandir Gosan, Mandrian, Badan Di Chapdi, and Ram Rattan Mohalla Dhada.
Suresh Sharma highlighted that delays in some development projects were caused by the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct during the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. However, he assured that development work is now progressing continuously in Blocks Maira Mandrian and Chowki Chowra. He added that the work of laying tar on several approved roads would begin soon.
He praised the BJP-led central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing numerous welfare schemes that are benefiting people across the country.
Prominent individuals present at the event included former Sarpanch Milkhi Ram, Mandal General Secretary Chanchal Singh, Mandal Vice President Satyapal, Bavinder Kumar, Feem Chand, Girdhari Lal, Om Prakash Sharma, Inspector Prem Sagar, Hansraj, Praveen Kumar, Alok Nath, Subhash Malhotra, Sanjay Kumar, Noor Jamal, and several other dignitaries.
This milestone marks another step towards transforming the region.
