Udhampur, Dec 5: The District Drug Destruction Committee, led by SSP Udhampur Sh. Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, destroyed a significant consignment of drugs today. This contraband, seized in 37 different NDPS cases, was destroyed via incineration at M/S Anmol Healthcare Rakh Rara, Swankha Morh, Vijaypur, Samba.
A total of 1993.52 kg of poppy straw, 754.32 grams of heroin, and 1 kg 10 grams of charas were incinerated, following all legal formalities to ensure environmental safety. The process was carried out under strict surveillance, with the entire procedure videographed and kept under proper security. The destruction was executed in compliance with Section 52-A of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The operation was overseen by officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Board (JKPCB) and other local authorities. |
