Moscow, Dec 5: Russian President Vladimir Putin has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “India-first” policy and the “Make in India” initiative during his address at the 15th VTB Russia Calling Investment Forum in Moscow.
President Putin emphasized that India’s policies under Prime Minister Modi have created a stable and conducive environment for growth, helping strengthen India’s position in the global economy.
He particularly highlighted the “Make in India” program, which aims to boost manufacturing and attract foreign investment, as a crucial driver of India’s economic progress.
The Russian President also expressed Russia’s willingness to set up manufacturing operations in India, showcasing his belief in the profitability of investing in the country. “Prime Minister Modi has a similar program called Make in India. We are also ready to set up our manufacturing operations in India,” said President Putin.
Putin further praised India’s efforts to create stable conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), acknowledging the economic initiatives led by the Indian government. He also highlighted a recent investment of $20 billion by Russian company Rosneft in India. |
