JAMMU, Dec 6: Regional News Unit (RNU), Akashvani Jammu, celebrated its 54th foundation day on Friday. In commemoration of the historic day, Akashvani mounted special features and conducted interviews of former office bearers and news readers. On the occasion, congratulatory messages to the media unit from renowned figures of the region were also aired.
A special ceremony was also held to felicitate its staff members in different categories for their meritorious and outstanding services and achievements during the year 2023-2024, to boost their moral and professional skills.
Deputy Director General (Engineering) Akashwani Jammu, J. Ravikantha Babu, was chief guest on the occasion, along with RNU Head, N. Gulshan Raina; Deputy Director (Engineering), Sunil Chaku; Head of Programs, Bachan Bhagat; and Engineering Head, Sanjay Koul presented awards to the winners. Mohammad Yousaf Ganai, former RNU head, who served from 1996 to 2000, was a special guest.
