| Indian Army organized Awareness Lecture | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, Dec 7: Keeping in view the Indian Army's core objective of maintaining cordial relations with local citizens, the Indian Army organized an awareness lecture to commemorate "World AIDS Day" with school children and locals at Bafliaz in the Poonch. The aim of the lecture was to strengthen the fight against HIV and AIDS and to spread awareness among the younger generation as well as the local populace about AIDS, a life-threatening disease.
This lecture helped in raising awareness about this chronic illness and promoted knowledge on best practices to prevent and overcome AIDS among people of all age groups in Bafliaz and nearby areas.
A total of 97 locals (77 students and 20 village dignitaries) attended the lecture. During the lecture, a representative of the Indian Army delivered a comprehensive talk on AIDS, explaining how it affects the human body by attacking the immune system, thereby making it harder for the body to fight off infections and diseases.
He also shared statistics about how many people have been affected by AIDS and how millions have died of AIDS-related illnesses. Highlighting its severity as a life-threatening disease, he briefed the youth and locals on adopting preventive measures to combat the spread of AIDS.
He assured the gathering that, by religiously following these preventive measures, it is possible to stop the spread of AIDS in society and ultimately eradicate it. This gesture and effort by the Indian Army were highly appreciated by the locals.
This endeavor by the Indian Army to reach out to the population residing in remote areas, where the civil administration has limited accessibility, will go a long way in fostering and strengthening trust between Indian Army and Awam. The event also served as a platform to reinforce the bond between the Indian Army and the people of this region, showcasing the Indian Army's commitment to serving the nation. |
