Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 7: The Swachh Bharat BIG Cricket League 2024 continued with thrilling matches on Day 4 at Jammu Sports Club, Kot Tawa. Organized by 92.7 BIG FM in collaboration with the Department of Rural Sanitation, J&K, the tournament combines cricket excitement with the message of cleanliness and sustainability under the theme "Let's Swing for Swachhta."
Swachhta Strikers faced District Administration Samba XI in the first match. After winning the toss, District Administration chose to bat first but was dismantled by Swachhta Strikers' captain, Kapil, who took five crucial wickets. His performance led to the team being bowled out for just 70 runs.
Swachhta Strikers achieved the target in just 13 overs, securing a comprehensive win. Kapil was named Man of the Match for his extraordinary performance.
Tawi Challengers batted first and put up a strong total of 218 runs, with Captain Munish scoring 56 runs and Sukhi contributing 39. Munish's all-round performance with bat and ball was instrumental in his team's dominance, earning him the title of Man of the Match.
Swachhta Warriors could not keep up, despite Suraj's 32 runs off just 14 balls. They were bowled out for 92 runs, resulting in a massive 126-run victory for Tawi Challengers.
The tournament continues to combine thrilling cricketing action with environmental awareness by promoting recycling and eco-friendly living through organizations like UMEED and SBM(G) stalls at the venue.
