JKSCERT organizes 3-day orientation programme

JAMMU, Dec 7: The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT), Divisional Office Jammu, successfully organized a 3-day orientation programme from December 5 to December 7, 2024, on Entrepreneurship and Soft Skills as part of Vocational Education: Building a Skilled Workforce for Sustainable Development.
The event was conducted by the Art and Vocational Education Wing, AU1, and aimed at fostering creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and critical thinking among educators and students to align with NEP 2020 goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education).
Inauguration: The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Prof. Dr. Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT Jammu Division, along with academic heads and participants.
Welcome Speech: Mtr. Sultana Kosar, Associate Professor and Head of AU-I, welcomed participants and highlighted the objectives, including entrepreneurship, soft skills development, and innovation.
Keynote Address: Pooja Sharma delivered a keynote, focusing on entrepreneurship, soft skills, and the role of vocational education in preparing students for the future workforce.
Several resource persons provided insights into various areas, including:
Entrepreneurship and vocational education under NEP 2020.
Marketing, finance, communication skills, leadership, and team-building.
Strategies and success stories related to the Start-Up India initiative.
Resource persons included: Pooja Sharma, Yogesh Kumar, Manu Vasudeva, Manisha Chun, Dr. Harpreet Kour, Bindiya Bhalwal, Amit Sharma, Navneet Gupta, Dr. Sunita Sharma and Dr. Meenakshi Chandan
The event concluded with success stories, interactive sessions, and participants' presentations, followed by the formal valedictory ceremony. Certificates of participation were awarded to all attendees.
