Jammu, Dec 8: His Excellency Manoj Sinha, Honourable Lieutenant Governor Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir witnessed the 18th Annual Function of MV International School as the Chief Guest. The program was organised at the General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. Distinguished Guests of Honour Padma Shri Prof. Vishwamurti Shastri; Padma Mohan Singh; Padma Shri Romalo Ram & Padma Shri Dr. S. P. Varma along with special guests Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor University of Jammu; Ashok Kumar Sharma, JKAS Director School Education Jammu & Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Awardee Bishan Singh ‘Dardi’ added to the event’s charm and significance. Their presence made the ceremony even more memorable, highlighting the school’s commitment to fostering excellence in all areas. Cultural programme was reflection of the school’s commitment to provide holistic learning environment in sync with traditional Indian moral ethics with futuristic approach. Major highlight was the presentation of 5 HP laptops to class 12th toppers of District Samba in CBSE Examination 2024 along with scholarships and awards worth Three Lakh Twenty Six Thousand Two Hundred & Two Hundred Eighty Five (Rs 3,26,285/-) to outstanding academic and sports achievers.
Chairman of School Hira Lal Abrol; Vice Chairperson Savita Abrol; Directors Gourav Abrol & Aakriti Abrol and Principal Kundan Lal Dogra, along with staff and parents of students graced the occasion through their distinguished presence. The cultural extravaganza suitably named as ZEST - 2024 commenced with ‘Lighting of Ceremonial Lamp’ and welcome address by Gourav Abrol Director, MVIS. He shared the glorious journey of MV International School and the way forward. While thanking the guests and parents for sparing time to witness the event, he applauded the efforts of each and everyone who has been contributing for the success of all endeavours at MV International School. The presentations included ‘Cultural Integration’ by class 7th; ‘Farmer struggle and need for food safety’ by class 4th; ‘Gratitude to Parents’ by class 2nd; ‘Hollywood Euphoria’ by class 1st; ‘Warriors of Patriotism’ by class 6th; ‘Empowering Expressions’ by class 3rd; ‘Strength and Wellness for Balance Life’ by class 5th; ‘Bouquet of Dogri Dances’ by class 8th and the grand finale ‘Bhangra Bliss’ by class 9th. The energy and vibrancy of performances, were a true reflection of the school’s dedication to nurturing the arts, culture & moral values. During the program, the gathering took pledge for promoting food safety.
Honourable Chief Guest His Excellency Sh. Manoj Sinha, in his address commended the school’s efforts in providing holistic education to the students inline with the National Education Policy. He shared that creativity, critical thinking and innovation along with selective use of Artificial Intelligence should be the core of education curriculum. He threw light on guru-shishya bonding and power that an effective teacher can infuse in his pupils. Video of bhajan ‘Garud Vahini Vaishnavi’ in praise of Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Ji that has been sung by the students of Music Studio, MVIS was also released by the Chief Guest.
Principal of the school presented the Annual Report, outlining the significant achievements with regard to academic successes, co-curricular accomplishments, as well as the dedication of parents, staff and students in creating a positive and dynamic learning environment. Padma Shri Prof. Vishwamurti Shastri, Padma Shri Mohan Singh, Padma Shri Romalo Ram addressed the gathering and shared tinier words of wisdom. They shared their joy on seeing the students of MV International School exhibiting outstanding performances across wide range of activities. MV International School’s 18th Annual function was a remarkable celebration of the school’s achievements and a testament to its ongoing commitment to holistic development, fostering both intellectual and creative growth among its students.
