| Dr. Nazar’s Urdu anthology ‘Qahar Neelay Asaman Ka’ released | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 4- “Qahar Neeley Asman Ka” book of Urdu short stories by Dr. Nikhat Nazar was released at a simple but impressive function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at K L Saigal Hall here today. Mohammad Shafi Pandit, Chairman, Public Service Commission, was chief guest on the occasion while Khazar Mohammad Wani, Member PSC was guest of honour. A galaxy of writer, poets, intellectuals and University teachers were also present at the function. Welcoming the guests, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Secretary Academy stated that the work done by Dr. Nikhat Nazar –the author, for promotion of Urdu, in shape of book released today is of immense value. He said that the Academy has published thousands of books in Urdu and is working hard for propagation of this important language. Zaffar further said that it is the endeavour of the Academy to provide all essential support to writer community of all the nine languages spoken in the State so that they can be able to contribute the cultural heritage in an organized manner. While appreciating the work of Dr. Nikhat Nazar, M S Pandit stated that the short stories included in the book are a reflection of the pain which a human being earn from society around him. He said that Urdu is a sweet language and writer community should work for its preservation. Khazir Wani, while speaking on the occasion, stated that the book of Dr. Nazar is a valuable contribution towards the development of contemporary literature being written in the State. He also appreciated the Academy for promoting young and energetic writers of the State. Earlier, Prof. Qadoos Javaid former HOD Urdu Kashmir University and Prof. Safdar Imam read out two papers on the Book.
