Director Agriculture flags off farmers, beekeepers for advanced training program | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 9: Director Agriculture Jammu,. Arvinder Singh Reen, inaugurated a five-day training program on "Advanced Scientific Beekeeping" at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Organized under the Support to Agriculture Extension (ATMA) scheme, the program aims to equip 48 farmers, beekeepers, and entrepreneurs from Jammu Division with modern apiculture practices from December 9 to 13, 2024. While addressing the participants at Krishi Bhawan, Director Reen emphasized the importance of exposure visits in enhancing agricultural productivity and economic growth. He encouraged participants to actively engage with scientists and implement the knowledge gained to benefit their communities. The initiative focuses on skill enhancement and promoting scientific beekeeping methods to boost productivity and economic potential in the region. Joint Director Agriculture (Extension/SLUB) Sh. Satish Sharma, Deputy Director (Central) Dr. Ashwani Sharma, and other senior officials graced the occasion. Accompanying the farmers for the training are Assistant Entomologist Sh. Rajesh Verma, AEA Sh. Amit Sharma, Beekeeper Harneet Singh, and MTS Shivanghu. The program is a step forward in empowering farmers with modern techniques to strengthen the region's agricultural landscape. |
