| Drug peddler arrested by Udhampur police | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 9: In a significant development, the Udhampur District Police arrested a drug peddler and seized 4.47 grams of a heroin-like substance from his possession. The arrest took place in the Housing Colony area of Udhampur town under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur. The police action was based on credible intelligence regarding heroin smuggling and trade in the region. A police party, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Udhampur and accompanied by an Executive Magistrate First Class, raided the suspected location. During the operation, the accused was apprehended while seated in the park at Housing Colony.
Upon frisking, the police recovered 4.47 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession. The individual has been arrested, and the contraband was duly seized by the police team.
An FIR (No. 490/2024) under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur, and further investigation into the matter is ongoing. |
