| Nirmal files nomination papers for Udhampur-Doda LS seat | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 04- BJP former state president, Member National Executive and candidate for Udhampur-Kathua constituency, Dr Nirmal Singh on Saturday filed his nomination papers at Kathua. He was accompanied by BJP State President and MLA Ashok Khajuria, leader of Party legislature Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi, Ch Sukhnandan, Syham Ch, Baldev Sharma, Lal Chand, Jagdish Raj Sapolia, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat and Durga Dass, legislators, besides hundreds of workers and supporters. He was taken to the office of the Returning Officer in a huge procession starting from Kunjwani Chowk. Over 10,000 supporters participated in the historical rally. Addressing the rally Ashok Khajuria said "only BJP is capable to restore law and order, provide good governance, and fight corruption and menace of terrorism. ‘The BJP has the capacity to lead the nation so it is necessary to ensure the victory of the candidate Dr Nirmal Singh from Udhampur-Kathua LS seat". He denied dissensions in the party and said that today’s procession has given a befitting reply to rumors spreaders. Addressing the gathering after filing nomination papers, Dr Nirmal Singh appealed to the electorates to vote in his favour so that he can undo the wrongs, being done by the sitting candidate and he would fight against the discrimination against Jammu region and further assured that he will come up to the expectations of the people if given a chance". He further said that people should not fall prey to the misleading statements being made by Congress which is in the habit of forgetting the people after coming to power. He also assured that VDCs will be strengthened. Criticizing Congress for exploiting the common masses, Dr. Nirmal Singh called upon voters to show political maturity and vote for BJP, who can safeguard their political interests. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta also cautioned people against attempts by certain Congress to mislead them on different slogans. "I am demanding vote for Nirmal but at the same time ask you one think that you have tested the Congress now the time has come to vote and support BJP, which is committed for the development and for welfare of all sections of society".
