| GDC Khour organized Essay Writing Competition | | | Early Times Report
KHOUR, Dec 11: As a part of National Youth Festival 2025, NCC wing of GDC Khour organized an Essay Writing Competition on the topic, "Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi" under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) T. K. Sharma, Principal Govt. Degree College Khour. The event was held to encourage students to think critically about the importance of preserving our cultural heritage while embracing development. Over 35 cadets participated with full zeal and enthusiasm, showcasing their writing skills and knowledge. The students through their writing skills depicted the importance of preserving cultural heritage sites, such as monuments and historical buildings. Students also emphasized the need to promote cultural exchange programs, language preservation, and traditional art forms. The competition was judged by Prof. Pooja Kumari, HOD English. Cdt. Tanish Choudhary of Semester I bagged 1st position while Cdt. Arun Partap of Semester I scored 2nd and Cdt. Ritish Verma of Sem I got 3rd position. While addressing the students, Prof. (Dr.) T. K. Sharma highlighted the role of technology in preserving cultural heritage such as digital archiving, virtual museum and social media campaigns. He also discussed the importance of community involvement in preserving cultural heritage, such as volunteer programs, cultural festivals and heritage walks.
