Congress's era of compromises over, Nation's Integrity is non-negotiable for Modi Govt: Kavinder
12/11/2024 10:07:29 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 11: Kavinder Gupta, Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister on Wednesday sharply criticized Congress leader Tariq Karra for his remarks defending Rohingya refugees and his allegations of Islamophobia against the BJP. He termed the Congress leader's statement as an attempt to appease a section of voters at the expense of India's national security and unity.
In a statement issued here today, the BJP stalwart said, "India has always respected international laws and upheld human rights. However, the security of our nation is paramount. These illegal immigrants have been flagged by multiple intelligence agencies for links to terror activities. Yet, the Congress shamelessly bats for their rights while jeopardizing the lives of Indian citizens."
Calling the Congress a habitual offender in undermining India's sovereignty, Kavinder said, "This is not the first time Congress has sided with anti-national elements. From supporting Tukde-Tukde gangs to standing with urban Naxals, and now justifying the presence of Rohingyas, their agenda is clear-to weaken India for petty political gains."
Kavinder lambasted Karra's remarks on Islamophobia, calling it a desperate attempt to polarize and mislead. "The BJP and RSS are the protectors of India's inclusive ethos. Congress, on the other hand, has a history of pitting communities against each other," he added.
"It is ironic that the Congress, which failed to protect the rights of minorities during its rule, is now questioning the BJP's track record. Modi government has initiated numerous welfare schemes benefiting all sections of society, including minorities," he said.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said that the people of Jammu region have been crying foul over the illegal settlement of Rohingyas, which threatens their security and disrupts the demographic balance. But the Congress chooses to ignore these genuine concerns and instead sides with those who entered India illegally, he added.
Kavinder urged the Modi Government to immediate deport all the Rohingyas residing in Jammu and Kashmir illegally and urged Congress to stop its malicious propaganda. "Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India will not tolerate illegal immigrants who pose a risk to our national security. Congress's era of compromises is over, and the BJP will ensure that the nation's integrity remains intact."
