District Administration Bandipora gears up for winters

BANDIPORA, Dec 12: In light of the recent snowfall, the District Administration Bandipora has finalized its preparedness measures to ensure minimal disruption to essential services and public life.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri directed all the essential departments including Revenue, Mechanical Engineering, Health, PDD, R&B, and FCS&CA, to take all necessary measures for the convenience of the public.
The DC also directed deployment of snow clearance machines at critical points across the district, with special focus on major roads, and healthcare facilities.
He said dedicated teams have been stationed in remote areas like Gurez and Tulail to ensure swift action during heavy snowfall.
Qadri said robust measures are in place to tackle winter/ snowfall challenges besides ensuring uninterrupted power supply, stockpiling of essential commodities, including food, fuel, and medicine, especially in areas prone to road closures.
He further informed that the Health Department has been directed to keep health facilities operational with adequate staffing and resources besides 24*7 Control room is already established at the district headquarter to address public grievances and emergencies.
Giving details regarding Gurez Sub Division, the DC said that Helicopter services are kept on standby to address medical emergencies and evacuation in snowbound Gurez area.
Qadri emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination and public cooperation to tackle any challenges posed by snowfall. He also directed officers to remain available round-the-clock and ensure timely response to any emergencies.
He said that the District Administration is committed to ensuring that all necessary measures are in place to mitigate the impact of snowfall and ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
