| Excise Deptt imposes Rs.10200 fine to defaulters | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 4-On the instruction of Excise Commissioner, Jammu, Pardeep Gupta team of officers of Excise Department comprising Deputy Excise Commissioner, Executive, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Audit and Accounts and Excise and Taxation Officer, Eradication Wing, Jammu, laid a naka at Palli Morh, Kathua in the early hours today to check the violation of J&K Levy of Tolls Act and J&K Excise Act. In all 64 vehicles were physically checked during the inspection.
During the surprise check two vehicles bearing registration No.2428-PB06G and No.JK08B-2608 were detected which had not paid the toll at Toll Post Nagri and Toll Post Mandi Mandikan. A penalty of Rs.10200 was imposed under section-8 of the J&K Levy of Tolls Act and recovered on spot from the drivers of above mentioned vehicles namely Vijay Kumar son of Gian Chand of Kerri Khurd Sunder Chand, Tehsil Pathankot (Punjab) and Sarwan Kumar son of Late Sain Dass of Nagri, tehsil Kathua respectively.
