Javed Rana reviews progress on Cluster Tribal Model Villages

JAMMU, Dec 12: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmad Rana, today reviewed progress on Cluster Tribal Model Villages and various tribal welfare related works being executed in Poonch district. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Poonch along with other officers from the district through video conferencing.
Javed Rana called for completion of all ongoing and pending developmental works and emphasised that work process on all projects be expedited and completed in a stipulated timeframe. He directed the Deputy Commissione to regularly review all ongoing Tribal Welfare projects to ensure their timely completion.
The Minister reviewed the work wise status of works including DPR, tendering process and execution with focus on quality, convergence model and active efforts being made by the department in tribal areas with emphasis on education, healthcare, soil conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
While reviewing progress on cluster model villages, the Minister said that the initiative reflects the government's commitment to uplift tribal communities by providing them with modern infrastructure and amenities.
The DC presented physical and financial progress on various works being executed under Cluster Tribal Model Village.
Regarding progress on Jal Jeevan Mission in the district, Rana asked the officers to maintain quality of work in execution of projects. He, while mentioning about certain complaints from various areas about implementation of the prestigious project, asked the concerned to sort out the same on priority basis.
Javed Rana asked the district administration to gear up to complete the projects that are nearing completion so that they can be dedicated to the public at an earliest.
During the meeting, Director Tribal Affairs was directed to monitor all projects in close coordination with all Deputy Commissioners so that maximum people are covered under the schemes and no eligible beneficiary is left out from availing the schemes. While appreciating the officers for their dedication in reaching out to the tribals, the Minister asked them to take locals into confidence, before taking up works in the district.
