UDHAMPUR, Dec 12: Rayees Mohammad Bhat-IPS DIG Udhampur Reasi Range chaired a Operations-cum-Crime Review Meeting of District Udhampur and district Reasi at Range Police Headquarters Udhampur. During the meeting, deliberations on improving the quality of investigation and disposal of Crime Cases particularly UA(P)A, NDPS, old cases and bovine smuggling were held in detail. It was impressed upon the participants to put in strenuous efforts in disposal of all the pending complaints received online, offline or through Sahulat App in a time bound manner to deliver better public service in particular and win the confidence of common masses in general. Besides the initiatives for the seizure of property of persons involved in UAPA/NDPS cases and OGWs be taken. It was further impressed upon the officers to conduct regular crime review meetings with intimation to Range Police Office and brief the SHOs/IOs for timely disposal of under investigation cases especially old cases. SSP Reasi and concerned supervisory officers were asked to take measures for security to soon-to-be-operationalized Railway link. He stressed the officers to take strict and well-planned strategy against the criminals involved in the theft/burglary related cases and ensure recovery of whole stolen property as the performance of most of the police stations on the front is on lower side. Further the officers were also directed to take strict action against drug peddlers/bovine smugglers, as this illicit trade is often associated with various other unlawful activities including transportation of criminals and unlawful material which may lead to law & order issues. The officers present in the were directed to strengthen intelligence and security grid, activate the VDGs and intensify naka checking, patrolling and launch cordon and search operations in their respective area of responsibility and also ensure night checking by GOs to ensure alertness of the field staff deployed on vital installations and with the protected persons to avoid any untoward incident.
