Recruitment for Dogri posts lacks clarity, says president Nami Dogri Sanstha

JAMMU, Dec 13: Adv. Dogra Harish Kaila, President of Nami Dogri Sanstha, has voiced serious concerns over alleged irregularities and lack of transparency in the recruitment process for the position of Editorial Executive/Newsreader-cum-Translator (Dogri) conducted by Prasar Bharati. Adv. Kaila emphasized that these practices undermine the credibility of the institution and discourage talented candidates from participating in such processes.
During a detailed discussion with Mohd. Yaseen, a candidate in the process, Adv. Kaila raised several issues regarding the alleged lack of clarity in question paper preparation, the absence of qualified Dogri language experts in the interview panel, and the use of informal communication channels such as WhatsApp for result announcements.
Adv. Kaila remarked, "The selection process appears to have overlooked the pride and integrity of the institution, seemingly catering to individuals who are either well-connected or possess little to no relevant experience. Such decisions reflect poorly on Prasar Bharati's commitment to transparency and meritocracy."
He further stated that Dogri, a language deeply rooted in the cultural identity of the Duggar region, deserves a fair and professional representation in all processes concerning its promotion. "Dogri is not just a language but a heritage of millions of people in this region. Any compromise on its dignity is unacceptable," he added.
Mohd. Yaseen, a cultural activist and National Scholarship holder in theatre, filed an RTI (PRBHA/R/E/24/01019) after being advised by Gulshan Raina, Assistant Director, RNU Jammu, to seek clarification on the recruitment process. Yaseen has raised pertinent questions regarding the fairness and transparency of the process, including the qualifications of panel members and safeguards against irregularities.
Adv. Kaila called on Prasar Bharati's leadership to address these grievances and restore public confidence in the recruitment process. He also urged authorities to scrutinize past recruitments-whether casual, contractual, or permanent-to identify any similar irregularities or backdoor entries.
The President of Nami Dogri Sanstha concluded by reaffirming the organization's commitment to upholding the honor of the Dogri language and culture. "Our focus remains on ensuring that Dogri receives the respect it deserves through just and transparent processes. I urge local leaders and authorities to step forward and address this issue with the seriousness it warrants."
