Pile up buffer stocks for cut-off area: Taj to CA&PD

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22 – To ensure supply/buffer stocking of rations at Marwa/Warwan/Gandoh/Dachan, the areas remaining cut-off during winter season, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution/ Animal/Sheep Husbandry Departments Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din visited these cut-off areas of Doda district yesterday.
He inspected the food go-downs of the areas and expressed satisfaction over the stock position of ration meant for Warwan/ Marwa, as the same stand stocked Inshan via Kashmir Valley through Margontop for its onward transmission to Marwa and other villages of the area. The Minister also visited Nowpachi and inspected the food godowns and interacted with the locals in the area and assured them that the State Government is committed to dump/supply ration to them prior to the winter season. Minister also took a review of the functioning of other departments. He was told that the officers posted in the area do not come to their respective places of posting and thereby creating a lot of trouble for general public. He took serious note of the complaint and assured the people that the officers, who do not go to their place of postings, will be dealt under rules. He further assured the people that the coalition Government is committed to the progress of cut-off areas like other parts of the Staqte. While visiting Dachan, one more cut-off area of Doda district he assured the people that necessary dumping/supplies of ration to them will be made before the winter season. While reviewing the working of other departments. The Minister received complaints of non-availability of teachers/ lecturers in Higher Secondary Schools, besides, non-functioning of Electricity Department coupled with absence of officers posted in the area. The Minister assured the public that the State Government will take strict action against the erring officers. The Minister also visited Gandoh and interacted with the people and enquired about the ration position. He told the locals that their demand for supply of atta have been considered by the Government and atta will be supplied to them very soon. He also reviewed the progress of Animal/Sheep Husbandry Department including other departments at Gandoh. On his way back, the Minister met SDM, SDPO and Assistant Director CAPD at Kishtwar and instructed them to take appropriate steps to ensure dumping/supply of rations to the cut-off areas.
