DIG JSK Range releases anti-drug awareness song by J&K police official

JAMMU, Dec 13: The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS), released an anti-drug awareness song sung and composed by J&K Police official SPO Gourav Kumar. The event, held at the Conference Hall, District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu, was attended by SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, SO to DIG JSK Range SSP Rajinder Singh Katoch, SP Rural Jammu Birjesh Sharma, SP City South Jammu Ajay Sharma, and President Team Jammu Zorawar Singh, along with other police officers and dignitaries.
The program commenced with the screening of anti-drug awareness videos prepared by the Range Police Headquarters, Jammu. Following this, the song composed and sung by SPO Gourav Kumar, directed by K.K. Malhotra, and presented by Jammu and Kashmir Police Parivar, was played. The initiative received widespread appreciation from police officials and members of the media present at the event.
Addressing the gathering, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma emphasized the detrimental effects of drug abuse, describing it as a "poison that destroys lives." He urged the public, especially youth, to stay away from drugs and advocate for a drug-free society. Highlighting the rising menace of drug addiction among young people, he stressed the importance of sensitizing every section of society about the perils of substance abuse.
DIG JSK Range praised SPO Gourav Kumar for his remarkable contribution to the anti-drug awareness campaign through music and presented him with a cash prize and a memento as a token of appreciation. Other police officers were also honored for their outstanding efforts in combating drug abuse.
The event concluded with the National Anthem, symbolizing unity in the fight against drug abuse.
