Early Times Report

DODA, Dec 13: A comprehensive training workshop on the Agricultural Census under Phase 2nd and 3rd was held under the chairmanship of Additional Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Doda, Sunil Bhutyal, at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, Doda.
The workshop was attended by Tehsildars, Girdwars, Patwaris, and other officials from the Revenue Department, focusing on the critical aspects of agricultural land data collection and management.
During the meeting, the ACR provided an in-depth overview of the objectives and methodologies of the agricultural census, emphasizing its role in shaping policies for sustainable agricultural development. He highlighted the importance of accurate data collection in land measurement, cropping patterns, and revenue system parameters, which form the backbone of effective decision-making. The workshop also featured a presentation by an expert, who shared a detailed PowerPoint overview of key aspects related to land revenue and agricultural census.
Discussions during the session centered around data collection techniques, standardization of survey methods, and addressing challenges faced during previous phases of the census. Officials deliberated on the integration of digital tools for efficient land records management and the incorporation of geospatial technologies to enhance the accuracy of land mapping. The importance of inter-departmental coordination and public awareness campaigns to ensure farmer cooperation in the census process was also stressed.
As part of the training session, training manuals were distributed among Patwaris to guide them in implementing the discussed methodologies. The initiative is expected to strengthen the accuracy of agricultural records, improve policy implementation, and facilitate better planning for the district's agricultural and land use management.
