GGM Science College Jammu Observes National Energy Conservation Day

Jammu, Dec 14: The Department of Physics at GGM Science College Jammu, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an event to mark National Energy Conservation Day. The event, centered around this year’s theme, “Powering Sustainability – Every Watt Counts,” saw active participation from over 60 students and faculty members.
Dr. Purshotam Singh Manhas, Coordinator of IQAC and Head of the Physics Department, delivered a presentation emphasizing the importance of energy conservation and how small efforts can contribute to a sustainable future. He stressed the role of responsible behavior and appropriate technology in energy efficiency.
A quiz competition on energy conservation was held, with students from Semester 1 showcasing their knowledge. Ashish Kumar and Suman shared the first position, while Niyati Raina, Raghav Gupta, Nihar Kohli, Varun Sharma, and Krish Sharma secured second place. The quiz was judged by Prof. N.P. Sharma, Dr. Bandhan Sharma, Prof. Suneel Singh Barheyan, and Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma.
The event was anchored by Prof. Yasmeen Mughal, with Dr. Vandana Khajuria as the Chief Guest. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta congratulated the participants and organizers, urging everyone to embrace the theme and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
