JAMMU, Dec 14: The vibrant two-day Annual Sports Meet of PWHS Higher Secondary School, Pouni Chak, commenced with great enthusiasm and fervor, showcasing the school’s commitment to holistic education. The event was graced by Mr. Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West, as the Chief Guest, who applauded the school’s remarkable blend of tradition and modernity.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed a warm welcome extended to the Chief Guest by the school management, including Academic Director Mr. Arun Ambardar, Chairperson Mrs. Basanti Ambardar, and Principal Mrs. Anita Koul. The event was also attended by several special guests, including BJP Mandal President Mr. Keshav Chopra, Neurotherapy expert Dr. Sumit Mahajan, and prominent community leaders Mr. Deepak Sharma, Sh. Sudarshan Sharma Ji, and Sh. Ajay Takoo, who added to the grandeur of the occasion.
In his address, Mr. Arvind Gupta lauded the school’s management for its efforts to nurture both the physical and mental well-being of students. He highlighted the school as a “best example of Sanskriti and modernization,” emphasizing its dedication to upholding cultural values while embracing contemporary educational practices.
The MLA also praised the school’s initiatives to create a healthy and eco-friendly environment by strictly prohibiting toxic food items and the use of polythene on campus.
He urged other educational institutions to adopt similar practices to promote sustainability and responsible behavior among students.
During the sports meet, students participated in a variety of competitive events that encouraged teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The atmosphere was filled with energy and excitement as students showcased their athletic talents.
Academic Director Mr. Arun Ambardar emphasized the significance of sports in education, stating that physical activities are integral to developing a well-rounded personality. Chairperson Mrs. Basanti Ambardar and Principal Mrs. Anita Koul expressed gratitude to the guests and applauded the students for their enthusiasm and dedication.
The two-day event concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners, recognizing their hard work and achievements. The event not only celebrated the spirit of sports but also reinforced the school’s commitment to fostering all-around development in its students.
