'Ru-Ba-Ru' with Novelist Bhupinder Singh Raina organized by JKAACL

JAMMU, Dec 14: Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized literary programme 'Ru-Ba-Ru' under the guidance of Smt. Harwinder Singh JKAS, Secretary JKAACL today at K L Saigal Auditorium, Jammu Writers' Club, Jammu. The programme was based on the life and literary work of Bhupinder Singh Raina, an eminent Punjabi fiction writer. S. Ajit Singh Mastana, a noted Punjabi Ghazal writer presided over the programme whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn was the chief guest of the programme. Smt. Harwinder Singh Raina, Secy. JKAACL, Bhupinder Singh Raina and Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi, JKAACL were present in the presidium. A Punjabi novel for children 'Vidyarthi Nama' was also released during the programme. Galaxy of intellectuals and writers of different languages attended the programme.
Born in a village of Baramullah in Kashmir, Bhupinder Singh Raina had interest in fiction since his childhood. During his study days at college at Sopore, he joined Air Force. He had contributed two novels and two plays at the age of 25 years but had a gap of 45 years in writing due to sevice. He regained it and has come up with eleven novels in Punjabi. His novels have been opted in the syllabi of Post Graduation level by University of Jammu and Ganga Nagar University.
Sh. Harjit Singh Uppal noted poet & Punjabi writer presented his papers on the life and literary contribution of Bhupinder Singh Raina. During the programme Bhupinder Singh Raina shared his experiences of literary journey and the process of his creativity. It was explored that the literary works of Bhupinder Singh Raina are a part of discussions throughout the world.S
While in his presidential address Ajit Singh Mastana said that the writings of Rain are out come with a seasoned expression. He said that Raina has been associated with the humanistic and societal causes and has use his experiences in his literary works. He appreciated the quality craftsmanship seen in the expressions od Bhupinder Singh Raina. He also appreciated JKAACL fo organizing such activities in all regions of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, former Additional Secretary, JKAAL expressed his views on the life and the content of Bhupinder Singh Raina. He appreciated the contribution of Raina in the field of Punjabi literary world of Jammu & Kashir in general, and especially in the main stream Punjabi literature.
Earlier, in her welcome address Smt. Harwinder Kour, Secy. JKAACL said that Academy has been organizing various literary programmes like 'Ru-Ba-Ru', 'Meet the Eminent', book release functions and seminars etc. Popinder Singh Paras Editor Sheeraza Punjabi also highlighted the contribution of Bhupinder Singh Raina in the field of Punjabi fiction. He elaborated that Academy also plans to organize Punjabi programmes at far flung areas of Jammu & Kashmir.
Padamshri (Dr.) Jitender Udhampuri, former IGP Satinder Singh Bijral, Jang S. Verman, Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar and Pritpal Singh Betab shared their views on the contribution and nature of his literary works.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Popinder Singh Paras who extended vote of thanks also.
