Director Agriculture Jammu reviews progress on fertilizer license and POS device distribution | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 14: In a significant effort to streamline agricultural processes, Director Agriculture Jammu, S. Arvinder Singh Reen, chaired a crucial meeting at the Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Jammu, to review the progress on Fertilizer License Updation and the distribution of POS devices in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting focused on the ongoing efforts to update fertilizer licenses for wholesalers and retailers, and the procurement and distribution of L-1 POS devices by fertilizer companies. The status of installation at retailer and dealer points across the Union Territory was also discussed. Another key topic of discussion was the development of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Suvidha Kendras (PMKSK). The meeting also addressed the liquidation of POS stocks on the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) portal to ensure a transparent and efficient distribution system. Director Singh Reen highlighted the importance of timely fertilizer license updates and effective POS device installations to enhance the agricultural supply chain and support the welfare of farmers in the region. He called for greater collaboration between government agencies, fertilizer companies, and stakeholders to ensure swift implementation of these initiatives.
