Early Times Report DODA, Dec 14: Continuing its special drive against wanted criminals and absconders, Doda Police has successfully arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for the past three years. The accused, Imran Ahmed, son of Mohd Din, a resident of Hawagen, Ramban, was involved in a bovine smuggling case (FIR No. 95/2021 under section 188 IPC), registered at Police Station Doda. After the completion of the investigation, the challan was presented in court, and the accused was declared an absconder. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued by the Hon'ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Doda. Following the directions of SSP Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), a special police team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, SHO PS Doda. The team used both human and technical resources during their search efforts and successfully apprehended the absconder from the Ukhral area of District Ramban. The accused has been produced before the court. Under SSP Doda's guidance, a special drive targeting absconders and wanted criminals has been underway, leading to the arrest of 20 absconders so far, including two this month. |
