Vote Congress, reject politics of communalism, opportunism says Soz

Jammu, Apr 5: President Pradesh Congress Committee and Union Minister for Water Resources, Prof. Saifuddin Soz has urged the people to reject the politics of ‘Communalism’ and ‘opportunism’ and vote for Congress in order to strengthen the secular, progressive, development oriented policies and programmes of the party.
Addressing a series of election meetings at Muthi, Trikuta Nagar and Channi Rama today, Soz lashed out at the politics of ‘opportunism’ of BJP and its candidate, as the later had claimed to have no political motives but now he has jumped in to the election fray. Those sowing the seeds of division in the society in the name of region, religion and castes are causing great damage to the pluralistic character of Indian Society which is the basis of the strength of our nation.
Election meetings including the convention of other backward classes (OBC’s) at Muthi organized by the OBC cell of the party were jointly addressed by the leaders of the Congress- NC coalition. Prominent among them besides Madan Lal Sharma, Mangat Ram Sharma, Mula Ram, MLC Devinder Singh Rana, MLA Raman Bhalla, Vinod Sharma, Deputy Mayor Dharamvir Jamwal, MLA Bimla Luthra, Madan Lal, Viashno Dogra of (OBC Cell), Surinder Singh Shangari, Narinder Gupta and corporators of Congress and National Conference.
Soz on the occasion said that coalition of Congress-NC led by Omar Abdullah and would work for the welfare of people of the state and come up to the expectations of the people. He said Congress led UPA Government had extended all sorts of financial support to the state as a result massive development was undertaken in all parts of the state during the previous congress led government in the state.
Referring to worker, Madan Lal Sharma he said, he worked for the welfare and development of his people as member parliament and he was instrumental in getting sanctioned a number of central projects in different sectors including the ministry of Water Resources for several crores in Jammu region and in his constituency.
Sharma in his address referred to his efforts as member parliament for the development and welfare of people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially his constituency. He said that BJP and PDP spread hatred but joined hands in the recent council elections.
Meanwhile, OBC of congress wing hold a day long convention at Muthi, were Saif-ud-din Soz urged upon the members of the community to vote en-mass of Congress-NC candidates at the time of voting. He said NC-Congress is committed for upliftment of the OBC in the state. The convention was organized by Madan Lal Kashyap
