Addressing a press conference at Jammu on Sunday, Singh said that Congress party misused the government machinery and the premier investigating agency CBI to acquit the 1984 riot accused Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar. “CBI’s clean chit to the 1984 riot accused is sheer mockery of justice system. The investigating agency has added salt to the wound of riot victims,” Singh said. “After 25 years the accused got the clean chit. I want to ask the government and the CBI, who is responsible for the massacre of 30,000 innocent Sikhs,” Singh told Press Bureau of India after the news conference. Referring to the death sentence of Kehar Singh, the accused in the Indira Gandhi assassination, Singh said that despite indirect involvement in the assassination of Indian prime Minister, Kehar Singh was hanged by the government while as Tytler and Kumar who have a direct involvement in the massacre of Sikhs have been acquitted
