| Placement/ recruitment drive for females organized in GDC Ramban | | |

RAMBAN, Dec 18: Career counselling & Placement cell of GDC Ramban in collaboration with District Employment & Counselling centre Ramban and Social Welfare Department Ramban organized a recruitment drive for female candidates under LIC's Bima Sakhi Yojna. The placement drive was attended by about fifty female participants out of which thirty two were shortlisted for next stage of the selection process.
The drive was inaugurated with the welcome address by Prof. Archana Kaul, Principal GDC Ramban. She welcomed the guests and expressed her gratitude for Employment & Counselling centre Ramban, Social Welfare Department Ramban and officials from Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) for providing this opportunity to the aspiring females of Ramban including students and alumni of Govt. Degree College Ramban. She stressed that this drive is a significant step towards fostering employment and entrepreneurship in the region. Mr. Lovepreet Singh of District Employment & Counselling centre, in his address, encouraged the participants to take full advantage of this opportunity with a focus on empowering women and enhancing their economic independence. Mr. Narinder Sharma, Development Officer in LIC, in his address, informed the audience about benefits of working with LIC and explained the merits of Bima Sakhi Yojna, a scheme designed to empower women and enable them to play an active role in the life insurance sector. He also explained the recruitment process that will be followed during this placement drive. Ms. Muzaima, Gender specialist from Social Welfare Department, also highlighted the various schemes and projects undertaken by Social Welfare Department for the upliftment of the females and understanding of Gender issues.
