Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 18: Dogra Degree College has once again demonstrated its excellence in sports as its students achieved outstanding success in various inter-university competitions, earning top positions and selections for national-level events across disciplines like basketball, boxing, judo, grappling, kickboxing, taekwondo, Gatka, and wushu. Notable achievements include Anuragh Thakur, Tejveer Singh, and Shagun Bhagat representing the college in basketball, while Aryan Jamwal and Sharan Aryan won gold and silver in Pencaksilat. In boxing, Shivali Chib secured a gold medal and Mohammad Kaif earned silver, with Shivali also winning bronze in grappling. In kickboxing, Vishal Kumar earned gold and qualified for inter-university competitions, while Shivali Chib and Shagun Bhagat secured silver and bronze, respectively. Vishal Kumar also won gold in Taekwondo at the All India University level. In Gatka, students Riya Dhamathia, Payal Devi, and Karandeep Kour won gold medals and were selected for the inter-university team. The wushu team excelled, with Narayan Pratap and Shivali Chib securing gold medals. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman DET, along with Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dr. Geetika Sehgal, and Dr. Bela Thakur, personally congratulated the students for their success. The efforts of Kewel Krishan, Physical Instructor, and Gulshan Sharma, NCC CTO/ANO cum PTI, were also lauded for preparing the players and coordinating with the University of Jammu.
