| Man attempts to kill wife; arrested | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 06-A self styled National Conference (NC) leader landed up in police custody after he attempted to kill his wife with a 12 bore licensed weapon in Trikuta Nagar area of Jammu, late last night.
Sources identified the accused as Kuldeep Singh son of Santok Singh of Trikuta Nagar Jammu. Though the accused claimed that he is a NC leader, party sources said that he was not even the basic member of the party.
Giving details, sources claimed that the accused had a tiff with his wife, late last evening, following which the accused brought his licensed 12 bore gun and fired at his wife. However, the accused missed his wife and bullet injured a passerby.
The injured, identified as Madan Lal son of Om Parkash resident of Nai Basti, Jammu, was shifted to government hospital, where his condition was stated to be out of danger.
Police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. The weapon was seized and the accused has been booked for attempt to murder.
