| Sikhs hold protest demonstration against CBI's clean chit to Tytler | | | Early Times report Jammu, Apr 6- Hundreds of Sikhs here on Monday held a demonstration in protest against the CBI's clean chit to Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case. Led by Sikh organizations, over 600 slogan-shouting members of the community, some of them carrying placards and displaying swords, took out a protest rally from Nanak Nagar Gurdwara to Gandhi Nagar Gurdwara in the city and also burnt effigies of Tytler. Addressing the gathering, leader of state unit of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) Manmohan Singh Khalsa said Sikhs have expressed serious concern over the clean chit to the senior Congress leader. "It is a pity that instead of giving justice to aggrieved Sikh community, the CBI has given clean chit to the conspirators of the 1984 carnage," he alleged. Demanding Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation over the issue, Khalsa said, "If the Prime Minister is a real Sikh, he should resign." The placards carried slogans like "Hang Tytler for Sikh killings; Indian secularism is only a drama; Minorities are not safe in India; Tytler hai hai, CBI hai hai, Congress hai hai and PM hai hai". Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) Jammu and Kashmir, state units of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and Sikh Students Federation were among the groups that participated in the protest rally.
