Rajouri, Apr 6- Congress candidate form Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat Madan Lal Sharma accompanied by Thakur Rashpal Singh, addressed series of meetings at various places in Rajouri district today and urged the electorates to reject the divisive and communal forces who are out to destroy our secular fabric which is the glorious traditions of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing largely attended public meetings at Kalakote, Budhal and Darhal, Sharma lashed out at BJP for its politics of hate said that it has no agenda for the development and welfare of the people. He said that secularism is the strength of our state and added the state of J&K has a glorious history of secularism and had rejected the two nation theory at the time of partition and opted for secular nation.
Unfortunately, some forces are playing negative politics of dividing people on regional, religious and caste lines which is great hurdle in the development and overall progress of the state, Sharma said that the Congress led UPA government at the centre provided all sorts of financial help for bringing about all round development of all regions and parts of the state. The neglected and backward areas like Rajouri-Poonch got impetus in the developmental sphere in different fields. The dream project of people Mughal Road Project is nearing completion and tourism, education and health sectors were given due attention and funding. It is because of the central funds, moreover the central policy to improve bilateral relations with our neighboring country and he divided families could meet each other after 60 years and across LOC Trade has been started. However, the situation in Pakistan and militancy from that side is one of the major reason for further initiatives as India always wanted harmonious relations with Pakistan for welfare of the people of both countries.
Sharma urged the people to strengthen the Congress-NC coalition in order to carry forward the process of massive development in all parts of the state and to fulfill the promises made by the coalition partners at the time of election.
Thakur Rashpal Singh, NC MLA Kalakote and Thakur Puran Singh-ex-MLA and several other leaders of Congress and NC in their speeches said that secular combination of NC and Congress will emerge stronger and aspirations and needs of different areas will be met more adequately by establishing a secular and friendly government at the centre headed by Congress. They said that Congress Government at the Centre took keen interest in the welfare and development of the Stat and people of all parts can not forget this. They urged people to bring Congress back to power at the Centre in order to carry forward the developmental process to usher the State into the prosperous region.
