| Annual training conference of NCC held NCC to join “Save the Dal” drive | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, APRIL 06 - With a view to plan training schedule for training year 2009-10, annual training conference was held at National Cadet Corps (NCC), Directorate of Jammu and Kashmir, here today. The conference was chaired by DDG, J&K Brigadier Anil Gupta. It was attended by all officers posted in various NCC units in the state. DDG in his opening address exhorted the officers to work tirelessly for revitalizing the NCC activities in the state. He also highlighted the role played by the NCC in harnessing the youth power of the state and the platform it can provide for bringing together the three regions of the state. The Conference decided to launch a vigorous drive to enroll maximum number of eligible cadets this year by reaching out to various schools and colleges. It was also decided to introduce sport and adventure activities as part of NCC curriculum. The DDG directed the officers to reach out to various schools and colleges in order to make students aware about the aim of the NCC and the various benefits that accrued to the cadets, who join the NCC. It was also decided in the conference to launch a massive publicity campaign to highlight activities and achievement of the NCC cadets of the state. NCC cadets will also participate in various social service activities and community development programmes and NCC Group Srinagar will participate in a big way in “Save the Dal” drive launched by the civil administration.
