JAMMU, Dec 26: Adani Foundation has provided a generous funding of Rs 70 lakhs to Amir Hussain Lone, the brand ambassador of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, near Chandigarh, to establish his dream cricket academy for the underprivileged youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
Amir Hussain Lone, a passionate cricketer, visited Aryans Group of Colleges to thank the management and students for their support in making his dream a reality. The event, which was attended by students from Jammu & Kashmir and other states, was presided over by Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman of Aryans Group. The program began with Amir lighting the lamp and cutting a cake, followed by a friendly cricket match with Aryans students.
Amir expressed his gratitude to the Adani Foundation for the support, stating, "I have faced numerous challenges in my cricket journey, but I want to ensure that the younger generation from Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of the country does not face the same hardships due to financial constraints. I will utilize this entire fund to establish Amir Cricket Academy, where no aspiring cricketer will be charged a penny, and the academy will operate in all weather conditions."
Dr. Anshu Kataria praised Amir for his inspiring journey, saying, "We are proud to have Amir Hussain Lone as our Brand Ambassador. His determination and perseverance are an inspiration to everyone."
Preeti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, expressed her admiration for Amir's efforts, stating, "I am glad to know you are working towards building a dedicated cricket facility in Anantnag. This facility will greatly benefit budding cricketers, including specially-abled athletes. Your courage and spirit are truly inspiring, and we are proud to support your dreams."
Amir Hussain Lone, who is also pursuing higher education at Aryans, has been recognized by several cricket legends, including Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Harbhajan Singh, and others, for his unique playing style, where he bowls with his legs and bats using his shoulder and neck. |
