Martyrdom Day observed in honor of Shaheed Lt Susheel Khajuria, Kirti Chakra

JAMMU, Dec 28: The NCC Unit of Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, held a solemn ceremony to honor the martyrdom day of Shaheed Lt. Susheel Khajuria, Kirti Chakra, with profound respect and patriotic fervor. The event was graced by dignitaries, family members, cadets, and citizens who gathered to pay tribute to the brave soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation during the 2011 Kupwara operation.
The ceremony commenced with the laying of wreaths at Lt. Khajuria's portrait, followed by two minutes of silence to honor his memory. Shaheed Lt. Khajuria, posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra for his extraordinary courage, continues to inspire generations with his indomitable spirit.
Principal Dr. B.B. Anand, in his address, expressed deep gratitude for Lt. Khajuria's sacrifice and emphasized the importance of remembering such heroes as role models for students. He encouraged cadets to embody the values of courage, selflessness, and patriotism exemplified by the martyr.
Retired Col. R.K. Sharma (Kirti Chakra, Shaurya Chakra, SM) delivered an inspiring speech, recounting Lt. Khajuria's heroic actions and the responsibilities borne by soldiers in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty. He urged the youth to follow the path of patriotism and dedication exemplified by the martyr.
The event featured cultural performances, including patriotic songs, poetry recitations, and skits performed by cadets from various colleges, all dedicated to Lt. Khajuria's valor and sacrifice.
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Shiv Kumar, NCC Officer, highlighted the enduring legacy of Lt. Khajuria, urging participants to honor such sacrifices not just on special occasions but through daily acts of service and discipline.
The event reinforced the values of patriotism and unity, leaving attendees inspired by the life and sacrifice of Shaheed Lt. Susheel Khajuria, a true hero of the nation.
