New Delhi, Dec 28: The Gurugram cyber police arrested two cyber criminals who allegedly used to cheat people in the name of recovering loans taken through a Chinese app by threatening and morphing their photos.
Four mobile phones with SIM cards were recovered from his possession, police said on Friday.
According to the police, they have been identified as Kapil of Charkhi Dadri and Himanshu of Hisar.
The team of Cybercrime East police station arrested the accused, Kapil, from U-Block DLF Phase-2, Gurugram and Himanshu from Rajiv Nagar Sector-13, Gurugram, on Thursday.
The police team took further action against the accused and registered a case under Section 308(2), 351(2) BNS at Cyber Crime East Police Station.
During police interrogation, it was found that Himanshu used to get data and photos of loan takers from a Chinese person for recovery of loans taken through ‘The Flaxy Loan Company App’.
“Himanshu used to provide that data and photos to his companion Kapil. Kapil used to commit the crime of fraud by morphing those photos and making them obscene and pressurizing people for loan recovery,” Priyanshu Diwan, ACP (cybercrime), said.
Himanshu used to do loan recovery work in the name of applications like Cash Fish Plus, Bajaj Broking, Cash Me, My Cash in Cash, Flexi Loan, Rich Cash Pro, U-loan, Flash Wallet, HD Loan Bazaar, Family Loan, Pokket Me, kredit Bee, Fair money, Finshell pay, HD Loan Bazaar, Money View etc.
Similarly, the Gurugram cyber police had also arrested a cyber fraudster in the privious month, who allegedly used to cheat people in the name of recovering loans taken through Chinese loan apps by threatening them during police inquiry, it was revealed that the accused used to get the names and mobile numbers of people through the Telegram app to recover the loan taken from Chinese apps. |
