| Telecom Company celebrated health day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, 7 April 2009: To coincide with celebrations to commemorate World Health Day, Tata Teleservices Limited, India’s fastest-growing pan-India telecom service provider, organized a marathon and a free medical check-up camp across the city to spread awareness and enthuse people to adopt a healthy way of living. Both activities saw active participation from the community, with both employees and locals turning up in large numbers. The schedule for the activity included a 3-km-long ‘Health Marathon’ commencing at 6:30 am from TTSL Office, to Guest House in Trikuta Nagar via Jammu University, followed by a medical camp at the Guest House. A team of doctors specializing in the fields of Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Physiotherapy, Orthophysics and ENT, were invited—this was to ensure efficient services and to hand out health tips to the visitors. The camp was open to all residents of Jammu free of cost. Commenting on the activities, Mr Atul Kansal, TTSL’s Chief Operating Officer for Jammu & Kashmir, said: “We are pleased to note that both the Marathon and Medical Camp evoked a phenomenal response from the residents. Our specialized team of doctors provided individual services with free medical check-ups and medicines. We are glad to have worked with Big FM as our media partners in organizing the event and highlighting the core message.” “This year on, on World Health Day, we aim to spread the significance of health amongst the masses through our Marathon and Medical Camp. Our motto is Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body,” Mr Kansal added.
