Lucknow, Dec 30: Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly setting new standards in industrial development and employment generation. With the goal of transforming the state into a trillion-dollar economy, the Yogi government has launched several ambitious projects. These initiatives span across industrial sectors, labour reforms, and social welfare, positioning Uttar Pradesh as an increasingly attractive destination for business and investment.
The Yogi government has introduced several reforms to foster a conducive environment for employment generation and industrial growth. The launch of the ‘One Time Registration’ facility ensures quick and transparent services for industries, freeing traders and entrepreneurs from cumbersome processes.
Special schemes have been implemented to promote women workers, creating employment opportunities in sectors such as pottery, carpet-making, brassware, and locks. These initiatives have not only increased the female workforce, but have also led to their economic empowerment.
In the IT and textile sectors, working hours have been extended from 8 to 12, enhancing efficiency and productivity. Additionally, permanent employment contracts are now permitted in textile and other industries, leading to the creation of new job opportunities.
Since 2017, the Yogi government has amended and simplified seven major labour laws. These reforms have propelled Uttar Pradesh to the “Top Achiever” category in 2022. Under the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP), the state improved its ranking from 14th in 2018 to 2nd place. These measures have not only attracted industrial investment, but have also laid a solid foundation for Uttar Pradesh to emerge as a thriving economic hub.
Furthermore, the government has prioritized the development of small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), recognizing their crucial role as the backbone of the state’s economy.
Under the ‘Shramik Kalyan Yojana,’ workers in Uttar Pradesh are being provided with essential facilities in health, housing, and education. Special initiatives for women workers have significantly enhanced their economic and social status, improving their standard of living. Simplified and transparent labour laws have made it easier for both workers and employers to comply with regulations, reducing labour disputes and boosting industrial productivity.
The Yogi government has embraced digital transformation by fully digitizing the registration and grant processes for industries. This move has saved both time and costs for businesses. Additionally, special tax schemes for small traders have been introduced, offering economic relief and encouragement. The effective implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) under the principle of ‘One Nation, One Tax’ has streamlined the taxation process, ensuring ease of doing business for traders.
To promote employment and industrial development, the government has launched several projects, including textile, IT, and manufacturing hubs. These initiatives have created thousands of job opportunities, especially for the youth. Alongside, the promotion of small and medium enterprises has further boosted employment prospects. The government has also taken strategic measures to attract foreign investment, positioning Uttar Pradesh on the path to becoming a prominent global industrial hub.
The Yogi government has placed special emphasis on empowering women workers, focusing on enhancing their economic capabilities and ensuring safe workplaces. Greater opportunities have been created for women in traditional industries such as pottery and textiles, alongside the implementation of special skill development programs.
