| Bajwa sells PDP ideas in border areas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, April 7: Reiterating commitment of his party to remove discrimination with all regions, former Rajya Sabha member and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Trilok Singh Bajwa today said that PDP’s agenda was aimed at fulfilling wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State. He said that PDP has pioneered a political and economic agenda which is guided by the aspirations of all sections of the society.
Addressing series of public meetings at Kalu Chak, Sai Camp, Dewan Garh, Pindi, Suchetgarh, and R S Pura along with former Ministers Rangil Singh and Manjit Singh, Mr Bajwa reminded the people that it was only during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayed that discrimination with Jammu region was removed. He specially mentioned that it was only during PDP regime that political empowerment of Jammu region was restored and many developmental programmes were started in this region.
He said that his three years tenure as Chief Minister of the State, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has carved out a path of development and peace in this region and it is need of the hour to strengthen PDP to further address problems of the common masses.
Former Minister Rangil Singh while highlighting achievements of the three year tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, said it was during that period rural areas were given special attentions. “It was first time during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that priority was given to backward and neglected areas and many developmental projects were started in these areas”, he said.
Manjit Singh, in his address, said that only PDP can solve problems of all regions and sub-regions of the State. He termed National Conference as mother of all problems and asked the people to teach NC a lesson in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He lambasted National Conference leadership for betraying people of Jammu and Kashmir for the lust of power. He regretted that instead of fulfilling wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, leaders of the successive National Conference regimes played with the sentiments of the people.
Choudhary Chuni Lal, Baldev Pappa, Omkar Saini, retired tehsildar, Chander Salathia zone president Vijaypur, Pushap Raj, T R Gupta, Raj Mohni Sharma, Bashir Mohammed , Pritam Singh, Mushtaq Malik, Qadir malik, Som Nath retired Headmater and others also addressed the rallies.
