| 200 bed hospital in Ganderbal soon | | Qazi asks medicos to render services with dedication | |
Srinagar, September 22 –Minister for Forests, Environment, Housing and Urban Development Qazi Mohammad Afzal today said that government has sanctioned a 200 bed hospital in Ganderbal at an estimated cost of Rs.22 crore. An area of 100 kanals of land has been identified for this purpose and work for this is being started soon, he added. The Minister was addressing a gathering at medical awareness camp organized by Jammu and Kashmir Chemists and Druggists Association and facilitated by the Ganderbal Chemists and Distributors Association at Ganderbal. In the camp, people were made aware regarding day-to-day use of medicines and precautions to be taken in tackling various ailments. The pharmists and other medical staff who attended the camp were apprised about with different procedures which ought to be followed by them while rendering their services. The Minister said that the people involved in health and other related services should abide strictly to the prescribed rules and regulations as any negligence, he said, on their part can cause death. He also stressed upon the pharmists to spare themselves for the treatment of the sick and needy. Regarding the proper and timely issuance of drug licenses, Qazi Afzal asked the authorities of the Drug Control Department to issue licenses after proper verification of the antecedents of the applicants and issue the same on merit and timely basis. Later, the Minister distributed drug licensees among 11 applicants who had applied for the same. Deputy Director, Drug Controller Kashmir Dr, Nazir Ahmed Wani, Block Medical officer, Ganderbal, President, Municipal Committee, Ganderbal Haji Ghulam Mohammad Lone, Dr. Javeed and Vice President JK Pharmacy Council and President JK CDA Syed Mushtaq Hussain also spoke on the occasion. |
