| Project to create Kashmiri Pandit database | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 07: All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) is soon going to issue forms to create a full-fledged Kashmiri Pandit Data Base to clear the doubts about the actual number of Kashmiri Pandit migrants in exile. In a statement the spokesman of APMCC Sameer Raina said that the forms have already been finalized and will go for large scale printing adding the activists of APMCC would launch a door to door campaign to fill up the forms and register the number of migrants and the number of voters to be presented to the government so that the confusion created by certain quarters about voting strength of the community is cleared. Raina said that APMCC has drafted the forms in such a way that it would include the compete data about the number of voters, number of migrants, number of adults, children, women and most importunately the number of educated unemployed youth in the community. He said that this was the follow-up action of APMCC demand of an Autonomous Development Council for Kashmiri Pandits in Exile which was raised by the organization on May 1, 2006 through its historical document “Path for Survival” a booklet released by the APMCC. Raina said that this data base would form the basis for the Autonomous Development Council whenever it is created so that the actual needs and concerns of the community are addressed to directly. Raina said that the APMCC has submitted the document to Prime Minister of India on 18/9/2008 and to United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) on 22/9/2008 at New Delhi. Reiterating its demand of setting up of an Autonomous Development Council for KPs Raina said that the demand has already found tremendous support in the community at various points of time. Raina also appreciated the fact that All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) has come out in open in support of the demand which was evident from the speech of the AIKS president Pt Moti Kaul at a felicitation function yesterday. He hoped that if all the KP organizations come out in support of the demand of Autonomous Development Council like AIKS the government would be forced to take action for which APMCC would go to any extent to pressurize the government in conceding their demand which was the only way to make a beginning for the final settlement of Kashmiri Pandits
