1/2/2025 10:05:54 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 2: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Jammu, has issued 22 new Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) in December 2024, further reinforcing its commitment to providing social security to employees and their families.
Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, RO Jammu, distributed the PPOs to the pensioners during a special ceremony held at the Regional Office, Jammu. The pension, a critical form of social security, provides essential support to employees and their families during times of need and unforeseen circumstances.
In line with EPFO's ongoing efforts, the Jammu Regional Office has initiated the process of settling pension claims directly from the region, ensuring smoother and more efficient service. In some cases, pensions are being disbursed to widows and family members of deceased employees, even when only one month's pension contribution has been remitted by the employer.
Shri Rizwan Uddin, along with his team comprising Shri Satya Prakash (Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner) and Dr. Paramjeet Singh (Senior Social Security Assistant), expressed their commitment to ensuring that eligible members and their families receive the benefits of the Employees' Provident Fund, Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance, and the Employees' Pension Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. A special emphasis has been placed on settling death claims, and multiple such claims have been processed to provide the necessary benefits to the claimants.
During the event, several pensioners received their PPOs and arrears, including Mr. Satish Kumar Koul (?89,121), Mr. Jai Singh (?94,976), and Mr. Romesh Chander Verma (?21,511).
Eligible members who have completed ten or more years of service under the Employees' Pension Scheme 1995 can avail of the monthly pension upon attaining 58 years of age. Family members of deceased members are also entitled to monthly pensions by applying offline claims through the employer of the deceased.
The pensioners who visited EPFO, Jammu expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for the timely disbursal of their monthly pensions and arrears before the close of December 2024.
EPFO Jammu continues its dedicated efforts to ensure social security for its members and their families.
