The theft occurred on the intervening night of January 3/4, 2025, in the Chandara-Balgran area of Drabshalla.
Upon receiving a complaint, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar constituted a special investigation team led by IC PP Drabshalla under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar. Through meticulous technical and field investigations, the team identified and apprehended the suspects.
The three accused were identified as:
Mohd. Mushtaq, son of Mohd. Ameen Shah, resident of Dunadi, Drabshalla
Mohd. Dawood, son of Ghulam Mohd., resident of Balgran, Drabshalla

During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in the crime and revealed the location where the stolen property was hidden. Acting swiftly, the police team recovered the stolen transformer, including its core and coils, ensuring the restoration of valuable public property.
A case under FIR No. 07/2025 has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and further investigations are ongoing.
