| Madan for defeating opportunistic politics | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 08 – Addressing a massive election rally at Paloura Jammu organized by Secretary PCC Maheshwar Singh Manhas at Paloura Jammu, the party candidate from Jammu –Poonch constituency Madan Lal Sharma said that Congress led government at the centre headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh has extended record financial support to the state during its five years tenure. He said that for the overall development of the state and the nation, Congress government at the centre is needed as it has the cherished history and able leadership. He said that the world looks towards India and our great economist Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, when there is economic crisis.
Sharma termed BJP as an opportunist party which wanted to exploit the religious sentiments of the people but they stand exposed before the people. He referred to his contributions for the people during his tenure and mentioned a number of central projects got sanctioned by his efforts.
Maheshwar Singh in his speech lashed out at BJP and PDP for creating a wedge in the society for their vested political interests. Such forces are enemies of the people and weakening the unity and integrity of the state. The Congress alone can maintain harmony and ensure equitable development of three regions.
Uttam Singh-Corporator, Bodh Raj, Pawan Kumar Gupta (Raju) and Mongal Dass also addressed the rally.
