| IHDF felicitates students for bringing laurels to State | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 8- International Human Development Forum (IHDF) NGO working for promotion of education organized a function here today to felicitate students of Jammu University who brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir by winning awards at the national youth festival, the mega event of all the Universities across the country. Aslam Goni, Political Advisor to Dr. Farooq Abdullah President National Conference and Raman Bhalla, MLA from Gandhi Nagar were the special guests on the occasion while Ranjit Kalra, Assistant Director Academic Staff Colleges was the chief guest. On this occasion, IHDF presented state youth cultural awards 2009 to Poonam Handa, eminent classical danger from the department of education of University Jammu, Joohie Mohan, from the department of Sociology, Basha Sumbli, the three times best actress of JU and the student of GCW Gandhi Nagar, Priya Raina prominent mimic artist from GCW Gandhi Nagar, Isha Taggara renowned skit artist from the department of Dogri JU, Sarang Vaid a debater and an actor from GGM Science College, Vikram Sharma technical professional and young artist from Department of Geology, JU and Neeraj Sharma three times best student of JU from department of Library Sciences, JU. Aslam Goni and Raman Bhalla congratulated the award winners and hoped that they would continue to bring laurels to the state in their respective fields both at state and at the national level. Vikrant Sharma, General Secretary IHDF announced that the IHDF is going to organize series of seminars and conventions on several topics in near future. Among others present on the occasion included Rajesh Prashar, Anuj Sharma, Ranjit Sharma, Mukti Tikkoo, Jasbir, Ms. Taniya Akhter, Tabish Tanvir, Meenakshi, MS. Jyoti Sharma and Sweety Singh Chouhan.
