| Aijaz for drastic change in education policy, stresses for quality education | | | SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 22 – According top priority to expansion of education sector, the state government has initiated various reformative measures to impart quality education and consolidate the created institution by way of providing all required infrastructure and teaching staff. He said purpose 54 degree and professional colleges and 5 universities are functioning in the state at present to ensure every student receives higher education and excels. This was stated by Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education, Forest and Agriculture Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Khan while addressing valedictory 2-day function of National seminar on Technology and Higher Education yesterday. The seminar was organized by Government College for Women Moulana Azad road Srinagar. Expressing his views of the topic, the Minister emphasized for bringing our drastic change in education policy, by making it more student friendly and fast globally competitive. In this connection he said, innovative tele-education program from Srinagar and Jammu have been launched. He further said there is tremendous potential for improving education by adopting new technologies like Internet, satellite communication, multimedia etc. Highlighting the role of teachers in nation building he said that today’s teacher must be a technosabby besides being a motivator, counselor, a facilitator and a classroom manager. He said the teacher must be dutiful and responsible person. |
